All the way back in August, we were giving you a first look at the BMW i3. Before long, the BMW i8 was stealing the spotlight at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Since that time, the anticipation has continued to build here at Bert Smith BMW.

Not surprisingly, we weren't alone.

In case this is all coming as news, the i3 is an EV hatchback and the i8 is a plug-in hybrid sports car. More importantly, they're the first of their kind from our favorite automaker, they're making their way to our lineup next year and they're bound to change the game. Unfortunately, it looks like they might be in short supply.

After recently making its big debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, pre-orders for the BMW i8 started pouring in. Next thing we knew, the brass at BMW was announcing that the i8 is now completely sold out through 2014. Needless to say, they're doing something right with this one.

Not only that, but the BMW i3 has already received upwards of 10,000 orders across the globe. And now that the first models have made their way to drivers in Germany, something tells us that number will keep on climbing.

So if you'd like to learn more about why the global community has been clamoring for these upcoming arrivals, the experts in our car parts department would be happy to fill you in at our dealership here in Saint Petersburg, FL. All these orders must count for something.
