When people say they own or are considering purchasing a new BMW, right away we know that person is invested in a quality, luxury vehicle. That person cares about his or her image since it is a well-known brand with a well-known reputation. In fact, BMW is recognized as a top global brand, which means a diversity of drivers admire the Bavarian automaker just as we do here at Bert Smith BMW.
Our claim isn't without merit. According to Interbrand (a consultancy firm), BMW made its annual list the 100 best global brands. This is the 13th year the firm has released this list. The company is the second-leading luxury automaker on the list and sealed the No. 12 spot. That means that BMW has increased its brand value by 10 percent.
How does Interbrand determine what are the best global brands?
"In today's global and social media-obsessed marketplace, brand leaders recognize the need to be highly collaborative," explains Jez Frampton, Interbrand's Global Chief Executive Officer. "The top 100 most valuable global brands are unlocking their value by participating, listening, learning, and sharing--and not just with leaders from within their organization, but with consumers, too. Brands that learn to think differently about the role they play in consumers' lives--and how to fulfill that role--have an opportunity to change the world in ways they never imagined."1
