The new BMW X3 harnesses the latest in vehicle radar technology to aid the driver in detection of possible obstacles and obstructions. Forward facing cameras scan the road ahead, working in tandem with the automatic emergency braking system to slow the vehicle should it determine a crash is imminent. In reverse, radar and cameras scan for pedestrians and obstacles too low for a driver to see during a shoulder check and sounding a warning to alert the driver.

The X3 also relieves some of the tedium of stop and go traffic jams by taking over both braking and acceleration at low speeds, allowing the driver to rest their driving foot. Important information stays in the driver’s line of sight when it’s projected onto the windshield. At night, the handy Night Vision feature illuminates difficult to see objects by using infrared technology.
