”Going green” has never been easier or more convenient, because BMW has just formally confirmed that the 2017 BMW i3 will be getting a big boost in terms of range and battery capacity, and with range anxiety destroyed, that means more gasless miles traveled. The 2017 model i3 is set to release late this fall, so there’s still some time before it arrives in our showroom, but you can check out the video below for some more information.

BMW has upgraded the battery cells it was using in the battery pack, now using Samsung 94 Ah battery cells, which have an increased capacity of 50% over previous battery cells. This extra capacity translates into an increase of 40% for range, taking the i3 from 81 miles per charge to 114. For those that want even more range, there will still be a Range Extender model available, so any worries you might have about running out of electricity before arriving to your destination or a charging station can fall by the wayside.
