If you haven't already heard, BMW has just announced the 2014 BMW X5. Categorized under a brand segment name, Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), include the following: X1, X3 and X5. We have more details to share about the third generation of the BMW X5.

Potential buyers should know that they option to purchase the X5 sDrive35i which happens to be the first real-wheel drive version of the vehicle. If you prefer your all-wheel drive, not to worry; that option is available for you as well. If power's your thing, this is a viable option for you, too. Under the hood, you'll find a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 300-horsepower and 300 pound-feet torque. Its coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission as well. There's nothing quite like having power and speed on your side. With those specs, the vehicle can get to 60 mph in about 6.2 seconds.

Want more? You can have it with the xDrive50i which is equipped with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 that pumps 445-horsepower and 480 pound-feet torque.

There's something for everyone. The car shopper seeking diesel should opt for the BMW xDrive35d. The horsepower is a little lower at 255-horsepower, but it's still quicker than the 2013 edition.

Drivers are treated to a contemporary look with this series' exterior. There's a strong focus on aerodynamics which starts at the rear and extends throughout. Good-sized air inlets, Air Breather on the front wheel arches and the Air Curtain in the front apron help this effect; these features also help  the vehicle achieve other incentives like reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
