The BMW 3 Series is getting split, but worry not, no metal or glass will be hurt in the process. In fact, rather than hurt, the re-badged BMW 4 Series will benefit the new BMW lineup which will include coupes, convertibles and a Gran Coupe model.
Although the new nomenclature will help distinguish the BMW 3 Series sedan from the 4 Series coupe, convertible and Gran Coupe, Bert Smith BMW is happy to report the 4 Series vehicles will closely match the 3 Series in terms of motoring options and packages. Keeping the sedan's legendary power and handling intact, a four-cylinder engine in both gasoline and diesel versions is on board with the option to put a 3.0-liter turbocharged power plant under the hood.
While we're glad the 4 Series maintains some of the best aspects of the 3 Series, the newly-rebadged Coupe and Convertible will be easily recognizable as autos of their own design. All signs point to crafted character lines that will lend a luxurious look while also enhancing overall sportiness. Standing out is exactly what we think BMW had in mind when the decision was made to split the 3 Series family. From the spy shots and various teaser photos Bert Smith BMW is confident Saint Petersburg drivers will be pleased with the distinction of driving a BMW 4 Series.
As launch dates for the BMW 4 Series are still a little way off in the summer of 2013, stay tuned for more updates as the 4 Series picture comes in to full view. Proudly serving the greater Tampa, Palm Harbor and Sarasota region, St. Petersburg's Bert Smith BMW is ready to show drivers what makes the BMW 3 Series such a great platform from which to build.
