When thinking about getting behind the wheel of a 2012 BMW M5 for a test drive, we here at Bert Smith BMW assume that many see both the science and the art behind every new BMW. We could talk at length about the science and stats of BMW vehicles but allows us to bring you on a trip to the artistic side this once.
A new advertisement video released by BMW of Canada shows the BMW M5 sedan performing in the role of a "bullet" seen in many popular extreme slow-motion videos. This high performance sedan sure makes a solid stand-in for a high speed fired projectile. The ad shows the speedster 5-Series rocketing out of a makeshift pipe or "barrel." After its rapid acceleration, the M5 begins smashing through cleverly crafted setups made to look like everyday objects.
Out of the gate, the sedan slices right through a glowing-red glass apple in opera-backed, poetic slow motion. It's a sight to behold but what comes next takes the ad to a whole new level.
Without any perceivable loss of velocity, the BMW M5 then skims gently underneath 3 enormous water-filled balloons. Touching the tip of the shark fin antenna ever so slightly results in all 3 balloons bursting in cinematic beauty. A perfect teardrop shaped water mass then crashes slowly to the earth.
Finally, to ensure the viewer knows exactly what object it is impersonating, the M5 scores a center bulls-eye on a waiting target.
The "Bullet" commercial highlighting the BMW M5 and it's more artistic side can be found on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ZDuxWGHA-Z4.
