Okay, what's the first thing that comes to mind when someone mentions BMW? Bert Smith BMW is guessing it isn't scooters, (unless you just read the title!). Yes, that's right. Our beloved German auto manufacturer is stretching out into the scooter market. As you might imagine, these vehicles will be primarily directed at the European and Asia markets, where the vehicles are a popular and efficient way to travel in large cities. The scooter certainly hasn't "caught on" in the same way in the United States, but with high gas prices, they could in the future.
BMW is known for its unique motorcycles, and of course, its fast, luxurious cars, but the company hopes to also make its mark on the scooter market with the release of the BMW C600 and the BMW C650GT Maxi-Scooter. Both of these vehicles will have similar styling as the BMW products already on the road, the BMW R1200RT and the K16000GT and GTL touring bikes. The, perhaps, more exciting news is that BMW is also working on an all-electric scooter, but that won't appear on production lines for quite a while. The new C600 and C650GT, however, will be in U.S. showrooms sometime in the next year; they are already present in Europe. Prices for the U.S. versions are still unconfirmed, as are fuel efficiency ratings.
Are you ready to go for a pleasant day drive with the wind in your hair? Or, perhaps you'd just like to get to and from work a little more efficiently. Either way, Bert Smith BMW is here to keep you updated on the new scooters, including the date of their American arrival. More interested in a new BMW car or SUV? We can help with that!
