The BMW 6-series is undergoing a slightly newer look. The newest 6-series is a longer, more elegant car and will be debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The car began as a concept, but should be reaching production soon.

The new 6-series is being designed by Adrian von Hooydonk who also designed the Z9 Grand Turismo. In reference to the new BMW 6-series: "With this car, I feel like I have come full circle. I was lucky enough to influence today's 6-series, and I've also been heavily involved in defining the new look of the coupe concept," he said.

Despite it being a concept, von Hooydonk confirms that the production version of the new 6-series will get only minor changes. These include different mirror housings, tailpipes and less flamboyant wheels. "What you see is largely what we intend to place into production."

The new 6-series coupe will also have a longer hood and more streamlined surfacing than the current model. Chrome will be added to the side window graphic and L-shaped tail lamps will give the new 6-series an upscale feel.

BMW has not released which engine they will be using in the new 6-series, but that information may become available at the 2010 Paris Auto Show which begins October 2nd.
